Modern Slavery | Violence Reduction | Crime Free Futures
‘Through our collaborative working approach with Total Training Provision and the City Hearts About Face Project, I am confident that Forging Ahead will bring real changes to the lives of the people that we work with and help move them away from the offending patterns of their past, allowing them to contribute to the communities in which they live.’
Sgt Peter Spratt, South Yorkshire Police
Since it began in January 2018, About Face has supported 104 individuals. 25 have Found, and are still in meaningful employment (Including clients who have completed the Forging Ahead programme)
What We Do
About Face is our commitment to addressing the cycle of crime by supporting not just victims but also perpetrators. Reducing the number of people committing crime, reduces the number of victims and as a result creates a better society.
We work alongside people at risk of being involved in offending behaviour who also present as difficult to engage with.
We create a tailored plan for each individual, offer specialist one-to-one support and signpost to partner organisations, including South Yorkshire Police, Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service and Drug & Alcohol Services.
Our aim is to ensure those in our support have the opportunity to move in to a new future, leaving their past behind.
Forging Ahead is a programme designed to provide paid and permanent employment to individuals seeking a life away from crime.
Working alongside Total Training Provision, Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, South Yorkshire Police and employers, a three week training course is delivered, which provides individuals with the required skills and qualifications to move forward into employment.
Working in partnership with South Yorkshire Police Violence Reduction Unit, Plan B involves experienced custody navigators from City Hearts engaging with individuals in custody from the point of arrest.
The initiative aims to reduce offending rates and violence, whilst also helping individuals realise and work towards their goals and aspirations.
