There’s been a baby boom at City Hearts, and this year lots of our clients will be celebrating their first Mother’s Day!
We caught up with one mum from our family safe house, who shared how she will be celebrating the day, and how she’s finding being a new mum.
“I am very happy, and very happy to have a child and be a mum,” she said.
“It is my responsibility to love my child and give my child the best. My baby can crawl and also stand up a little bit now. He loves to see the other children in the accommodation I live in.”
Our client, who is Vietnamese, told us that Mother’s Day is celebrated as ‘Women’s Day’ in Vietnam, and is a public holiday. Women receive gifts from the males in their family, and hold small parties.
Reflecting on what the future holds for her and her child, our client added, “I wish to have a job in the future so I can support my child with my own income. I wish to have a house to myself so I and my child can have all the space we need.
“I hope I get to achieve these things, as I want to provide my child with the best start in life so that he can grow and thrive in a positive environment.”
Thanks to our generous supporters each mum in our family safe house will receive a Mother’s Day gift this year.
To all the mums out there – Happy Mother’s Day from the team at City Hearts!
